دادخواست شهروندی و ملی برای امضاء
“نه” می گویم به شلاق و هر گونه کیفر جسمانی
من با تکیه به حق طبیعی و حق شهروندی خود در بیان آزاد عقیده:
“نه” می گویم به مجازات شلاق و هر گونه کیفر جسمانی، زیرا شلاق و کیفرهای جسمانی، به معنای دقیق کلمه، “شکنجه” هستند.
“نه” می گویم به هرگونه محکومیت قانونی و یا فراقانونی به تحمل ضربه های شلاق یا دیگر کیفرهای بدنی. زیرا اینها کیفرهایی هستند مبتنی بر شکنجۀ جسمی و روحی که
آثار جبران ناپذیری بر جسم و روان محکوم گذاشته، به حرمت انسانی او آسیب رسانده و به روان و جسم فرزندان، همسران و بستگان محکومان، ضربه های ویرانگری وارد می کنند.
“نه” می گویم به هرگونه تماشای صحنه های محکومیت جسمانی. زیرا تماشا و سکوت در برابر آن را به معنای شرکت در بربریت و توحش می شمارم.
“نه” می گویم به هرگونه نهادینه و قانونی بودن قساوت، زیرا مستقیم و غیرمستقیم، توجیه گر و رواج دهندۀ خشونت ها و نابسامانی های فردی و اجتماعی می باشد.
“نه” می گویم به مجازات شلاق و کیفرهای بدنی، زیرا مایۀ شرمساری فردی و ملی ایرانیان نزد جهانیان هستند. من خواهان اعتلای نام ایران از راه پیشرفت های انسانی و اخلاقی، علمی و اقتصادی، هنری و گسترش صلح جهانی هستم و برآنم که هیچ مردمی نمی توانند صلح خواهی خود را به دیگر ابناء بشر ثابت کنند، مگر درون مرزهای خود، هرگز به قساوت، صورت قانونی نبخشند.
من خواهان الغای بیدرنگ مجازات های بدنی و در رأس آنها شلاق، و خواستار ختم هرگونه نمایش و تماشای قساوت می باشم.

I Say “No” to
the Practice of Whipping and Other Corporeal Punishments
Based on my natural and citizenship rights to free speech and freedom of ideas:
I Say “No” to the practice of whipping and any other sorts of corporeal punishments, for they exactly fit the definition of “torture”.
I Say “No” to any legal and formal or beyond-law punishments by whipping, or other bodily measures, for these are corporeal and psychological tortures with irreversible impacts on the convict, while severely damaging his/her human dignity. Moreover, such inhumane practices dramatically hurt the children, spouses, and relatives of the convict.
I Say “No” to any public exposure of whipping and other corporeal punishments, for I believe that witnessing such scenes and remaining silent means nothing but cooperating with the executors.
I Say “No” to legalizing and institutionalizing of the practice of whipping and other corporeal punishments, for directly or indirectly, they justify and instigate violence in the society, and eventually, contribute to individual and social disasters.
I Say “No” to whipping and other corporeal punishments, for such practices put Iranians – as individuals and as a nation – in severe shame and degradation. I strive to see the name of my country “Iran” in the first rank of human and ethical, scientific and economic, artistic and peace making progresses in the world, and I firmly believe that no nation can convince others about its peacefulness, unless inside their own borders they exert a zero tolerance policy toward legal forms of atrocity.
I plea for the immediate abolition of corporeal punishments and primarily, whipping. I call for putting an end to public exposing and watching the scenes of atrocity.
